Why do words overlap

Even though, we have nowrap set, there is no overlapping. But let's see what happen we set a fixed width on our boxes. This is happening because the default is width: auto. Which means the boxes would expand based on its content. However, when we slap a fixed width, we restrict it from growing. Of course, you can also fix this by removing the fixed width ie.

Which is better? Before you jump to the conclusion that nowrap is no good because it can cause overlap. There are instances where I want to preserve the original form of my text. Because the text breaking apart would render the result unintentional effect and create an awkward user interface and hurt user experience.

For example, in code blocks, I don't want the text to wrap. Text wrap would make the comprehension of my code example difficult.

Enlarged text on mobile web browsers can vary based on the make of the mobile device Android or iOS being used. Each operating system has different settings that cause enlarged text. If these settings are changed from the default, the text size may be altered on a mobile browser. Unfortunately since these settings are specific to each user, there is not too much to control as to how text may display for users who enable these settings.

Unlike iOS, Android does not have special text setting options for the user. Instead it uses automatic text scaling in web browsers, so most websites should automatically size text correctly. A submission flagged as having text overlap with an article "by other authors" must have at least multiple consecutive sentences in common with the earlier work.

Overlap between articles with at least one coauthor in common is permitted an even higher threshold. For articles having a coauthor in common, there are additional exceptions.

In addition, certain classes of articles naturally encompass other source articles, either in part or in full, such as review articles, theses, conference proceedings, and book contributions. Articles that are marked by authors in the "Comments" field as belonging to this class i. Submitters can preempt the addition of a text overlap admin note by marking any known overlaps in advance in the "Comments" field as long as the earlier appearance of the text has a coauthor in common : for example, "this article draws heavily from arXiv:x, arXiv:y," or "this article supersedes arXiv:z.

A submitter who believes that an admin note indicating text overlap has been incorrectly applied to their article should contact arXiv moderation with a detailed explanation or justification.
